From Privacy to Freedom of Expression: the Continuum in 2015 – 2020.

MAPPING Annual General Assembly, Hannover, September 22-23, 2015. The annual event of the MAPPING project,, has become a recognised European platform for the exchange of views of a multi-stakeholder community. The very wide-ranging discussions this year focused on inter-related issues such as privacy, security and freedom of expression, as well as intellectual property rights.


MAPPING First General Assembly

The First General Assembly will take place on 22. and 23. September 2015 at Hannover Congress Centrum. The conference will unite the stakeholders active in the three key areas and will serve discussion and exchange on the results produced by the MAPPING project in the first year.

MAPPING to discuss Internet Governance in Bulgaria

In June 2015, MAPPING project partners will participate in multi-stakeholder discussions on Internet governance issues


Round Table on Open Innovation in the Proprietary World

On March 19, 2015, the Round Table on Open Innovation in the Proprietary World was held by the MAPPING consortium in Geneva. The discussion among the main stakeholders from around the world focused on the impact of the current EU IPR protection regime on innovation and economic growth and the future of Open Innovation in the proprietary world, comparing experiences from every continent. The Round Table was hosted by and took place at the premises of one of the project partners, the DIPLO Foundation. More than 50 participants being present in Geneva and several more participating on-line following through a live stream.


Privacy, Personality and Business models Roundtable held in Hannover

The first event of the MAPPING Roundtables series was organised by the Institute for Legal Informatics of the Leibniz University in Hannover (IRI LUH) covering the topic of Privacy, Personality & Business Models. The two-day stakeholders meeting on current business models took place in Hannover, February 11-12, 2015. Various experts from academia and the private sector shared their views on topics like technical and legal aspects of cryptography, antivirus standards, IT security legislation and new business models.


MAPPING Policy Observatory launched

A major result of the MAPPING project, the MAPPING Policy Observatory, has been launched earlier this week. The Policy Observatory establishes a “policy watch” activity, which will run throughout the project.

MAPPING’s dialogue with stakeholders gets into full swing this autumn

At the core of MAPPING’s approach is mobilization of and dialogue with a wide spectrum of ICT-related stakeholders and social actors. Efforts to this end commenced in May during the Extraordinary General Assembly. MAPPING’s dialogue with stakeholders intensifies this September as the partners organize a series of events in their respective countries and in Belgium. These events take the form of coordinated and comparative consultations of stakeholders, by means of Focus Group discussions.
